Write for Us: Business

We publish business writing for people who run things — founders, operators, managers, consultants. If you have run the payroll, made the hire, lost the client or fixed the process, that is the material we want.

This page covers the Business brief specifically. The general rules — word count, originality, link policy — are on the main write for us page, and they apply here too.

Business topics we want

  • Operations and process — what you changed, what it saved, what broke first
  • Hiring and team building, including what went wrong and what it cost
  • Pricing decisions and how you arrived at them
  • Small business finance — cash flow, funding, working capital
  • Vendor and supplier management, contracts, negotiation
  • Growth channels that worked, with numbers, and ones that did not

What makes a Business pitch work

A piece titled “How we cut our warehouse lease cost by 22% in one renegotiation” will always beat “How to save money on commercial rent”.

Pitch the angle before you write. Two or three lines is enough for us to tell you whether it is something we would run, and it saves you writing 1,200 words we cannot use.

Example angles we would publish

These are made-up titles, not commissioned briefs, but they show the shape of a piece that gets through review:

  • How we renegotiated a warehouse lease and cut 22% off the annual cost
  • The hire that cost us six months, and the interview question we added afterwards
  • We raised prices 15% and lost four clients. Here is the revenue maths
  • What our first year of outsourced bookkeeping actually cost, line by line

Notice what they have in common: a specific decision, a real number, and an outcome the writer actually lived through. That is the bar.

What we turn down in Business

  • “10 tips for business success” and similar generic listicles
  • Motivational content with no operational substance
  • Pieces that are really a pitch for your own service
  • Anything that could have been written without running a business

Requirements

  • 800 to 1,500 words, original and unpublished
  • Descriptive headings and short paragraphs
  • Sources linked for every statistic and claim
  • Up to two relevant, non-promotional links, at our editors’ discretion
  • Author bio of two or three sentences

How to submit

Email write@conciergewire.com with “Business” in the subject line, along with your pitch or draft and your bio. We read everything and reply to what we intend to publish.

If you need a published page on a fixed timeline rather than an editorial submission, our press release service is the route for that — defined turnaround, permanent URL and a backlink to your site.
